Workshop Objective

In today’s climate of unpredictability and rapid change, managers face growing

pressure to support employees who are struggling with grief, burnout, and ongoing

uncertainty – while also maintaining their own resilience.

This interactive workshop will help your organization’s leaders identify the mindset

shifts and tools they will need in order to meet these demands. Participants will

learn easily implementable strategies and practical takeaways to help them lead with clarity and confidence.



Learning Objectives

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the concept of Resilience in the Workplace – and recognize its significance in both personal and organizational contexts.

  • Understand and articulate the broad spectrum of grief and loss as experienced in the workplace.

  • Learn techniques for promoting personal and team resilience.

  • Develop tools for integrating the Resilience Toolkit into their daily leadership practice.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Peter Weller, PhD

A problem solver, advocate and educator by nature, Dr Peter Weller has integrated his 30+ years as a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist and his concerns about self care, wellness and social change, to build a career that has spanned psychotherapy, academia (The University of the West Indies – Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago campuses) and the corporate and civil sectors in the Caribbean as a Social and Behaviour Change Consultant. 

He is member and a Past President of the Jamaica Psychological Society and a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Psychologists. He sits on the Council of Presidents and Elders of the Caribbean Alliance of National Psychological Associations (CANPA). He previously Co-Chaired the Disaster Mental Health Committee. 

Dr. Weller believes that the demystification and destigmatization of mental health issues and the promotion of Mind Management and Mental Wellness are important components of any development and crisis management initiative. HR professionals should be integrating these strategies and skills into all their interventions.

Jodi-Gaye Cawley JP, BBA (Hons.), SPHR, SHRM-SCP, MBA, PMP

Joni-Gaye Cawley is an HR Consultant, Trainer, and Author with over 17 years of experience in the field. She holds internationally recognized certifications in human resource and project management, an MBA from the University of Wales, UK, and a BBA in HR Management and Marketing from UTech, Jamaica. Currently pursuing an MPhil/PhD in Education at UWI Mona, Ms. Cawley has held senior roles at organizations such as DHL Jamaica & the Cayman Islands, Amber Group, and the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce.

She has also served as a lecturer in HR at the tertiary level and has trained professionals across the public and private sectors, including government, banking, manufacturing, hospitality, IT, and academia.

A specialist in recruitment, performance management, and customized training, Ms. Cawley is widely respected in the HR community. She has spoken at major local and international events hosted by JBDC, CaribHR Forum, Readers Magnet USA, and the HR Management Association of Jamaica. Her Amazon best-selling book The Influential HR was recently featured in Times Square, New York. As a Justice of the Peace and Executive Director of the J. Cawley Foundation for Education, she brings together professionalism and purpose, using education as a tool to empower others.

SPEAKER

Rev Michele Synegal

Reverend Michele is bi-vocational, serving as Senior Minister at the Temple of Light in Kingston, Jamaica and as the President of Management Dynamics, Inc, a consulting firm that advocates for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She is a master facilitator having designed and facilitated over 20,000 hours of leadership development training across many industries.

She was ordained in 2012, served as Senior Minister of the Spiritual Empowerment Center in Baltimore, Maryland, for more than 10 years, and is in her third term serving on the Ministers’ Council. She was recently elected as co-chair. She chaired what is now the Diversity Inclusion Committee for three years introducing DEI webinars to CSL Michele is a visionary and shared her vision with the organization to create World Day of Service which was introduced in 2012 at our convention in Vancouver, BC.

Writing and publishing are her most recent passions. Her second book, Widow’s Speak: A Guide to Healing, Living and Thriving After the Loss of a Loved One was published in 2023. Inspiration in Small Doses was published in 2016 and is used in Kenya, CSL along with other works by New Thought authors of the African diaspora. She had the vision for and has launched a successful program for young adults: Step into Your Future where participants are being exposed to the principles of SOM. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human relations and organizational behavior from the University of San Francisco and a master’s degree in Consciousness Studies from the Holmes Institute for Consciousness Studies.

Event Chair

Marguerite Orane, MBA

Hope McNish is the Chair and Technical Host for this online workshop. With training in grief counseling from the renowned Dougy Institute, both locally and in Portland, Oregon, USA, Hope brings deep insight and compassion to this important conversation.

A Howard University graduate with a Master of Education degree, Hope is a seasoned Facilitator and Trainer with expertise in Human Resource Development, Strategic Planning, Change Management, and Organizational Development. She has also served as a lecturer at the University College of the Caribbean where she equipped aspiring Human Resource Management professionals with skills in Strategic Human Resource Management, Training and Development, and Facilitation. She is currently a member of the Board of the International Association of Facilitators.

Niamh Liston

Niamh Liston is a Master Results Coach and Business Results Trainer, and a certified Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming. Niamh brings a powerful blend of insight, empathy, and strategic guidance to her coaching practice. Through her work with Robbins Research International, she supports clients around the world in achieving clarity, confidence, and measurable outcomes. Her coaching style is rooted in curiosity and compassion—offering a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their limiting beliefs, reconnect with their strengths, and move boldly toward their goals.

Niamh believes that everyone is inherently creative, resourceful, and whole. Her future-focused approach emphasizes self-awareness as a key driver of transformation, helping individuals bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be. Whether working with individuals or teams, she is passionate about helping others become the best version of themselves—one insight, one breakthrough, one empowered decision at a time.

Lorraine Jones-Lawrence

The Survivors Unlimited grief workshops are an initiative of Healing Journey Retreats, a holistic and wellness event company based in Kingston, Jamaica. Its principal, Lorraine Jones-Lawrence. is a communicator and grief-support facilitator who has been hosting similar events on the island for the past two decades. She is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling and the author of the book, ‘You Gotta Get Up: Surviving the Loss of Your Child.
